Navy vs. SMU Live Blog

We will be live blogging today's Senior Day game at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium where Navy will host American Athletic Conference foe SMU.  Navy comes into the game with a 7-1 record after a 45-20 win last week at then #13 Memphis.

Navy senior quarterback, Keenan Reynolds looks to break the NCAA All-time Rushing TD record this afternoon.  Reynolds is currently tied with former Wisconsin standout Montee Ball with 77 rushing TDs.

6:47 PM - Don Pearson picks off an SMU pass and returns it 11 yards to the Navy 21.  Navy takes a knee two times and the game ends, 55-14.  Navy improves to 8-1 on the season and travels to Tulsa next Saturday.

6:44 PM - Navy has 406 rushing yards on 66 carries.  SMU has 237 total yards.

6:41 PM - Tago Smith runs for 8 yards and hurdles into the end zone in front of the Brigade to give Navy a 55-14 lead with 3:24 remaining in the game.  Navy's scoring drive was 11-57-5:35.  Navy is getting a lot of their seniors into the game.

6:31 PM - SMU turns the ball over on downs and Navy takes over on their own 43 yard line with 8:59 left in the game.

6:23 PM - Josh Walker takes a pitch from Reynolds and scores from 8 yards out.  Nick Sloan kicks the PAT and Navy leads SMU 48-14 with 10:59 left in the game.

6:21 PM - Keenan Reynolds is picked off, but SMU is called for roughing the passer and Navy has an automatic first down at the SMU 27.

6:16 PM - Navy's Daiquan Thomasson picks off an SMU pass and returns it 22 yards to the SMU 46 yard line.  This is the 16th consecutive game that Navy has forced a turnover.

6:11 PM - Navy's scoring drive goes 6-53-2:29.  The TD was Reynolds' 81st which ties him with another active player, Kenneth Dixon from Louisiana Tech.  Tech does not play today.  Reynolds is now 2 TDs behind Montee Ball on the NCAA All-time touchdown list.  Reynolds also has a passing TD in today's game.

6:10 PM - Keenan Reynolds goes over the 100 yard mark with a 6 yard carry to the SMU 32.  He follows that up with a 32 yard TD run - his fourth of the game.

6:05 PM - That's the end of the third quarter.  Navy leads SMU, 34-14.  If the Mids move to 8-1 by winning today, this will be their best start since 1963 when Roger Staubach was the QB.

5:57 PM - Navy punts for the first time in the game with 3:26 remaining in the third quarter.  SMU takes over on their own 49 yard line.
