DJ Sargenti picked off a Delaware pass on their first drive of the second quarter. Navy wasted no time in getting back into the end zone when Geoffrey Whiteside capped of a 3-play, 44 yard drive with a 7 yard TD run. The touchdown was Whiteside's first career TD.
Brandon Clements picked off a Trent Hurley on Delaware's next drive. Again, Navy needed only three plays to add to the lead. Keenan Reynolds found DeBrandon Sanders wide open in the middle of the field for a 63-yard TD pass. Sanders' TD was also the first of his career. Sloan missed the extra point and Navy led 23-0.
Delaware scored on its next possession when Hurley found Ryan Cobb from 17 yards out to cut into Navy's lead. The half ended and Navy leads 23-7.
