The Pirates ended a three-game losing streak by beating the Blue Jays 6-5 Friday night. The Pirates entered the bottom of the 9th inning down 5-3. Neil Walker led off the inning with a single. Two batters later Pedro Alvarez smashed a two-run home run, his 7th of the season, to tie the game 5-5. The next batter, Starling Marte, hit the walk off game winner to give the Bucs their first win since last Saturday at St. Louis.
